Day 31- Washington DC – By Josh Bernstein

Starting things of today we went to the Heritage Foundation; a think tank who’s focus is to uphold conservative views. We spoke to them on what America should do about distribution of wealth.  They had plenty of valid points, but did not seem to be concerned with how much the 1% had or have a solid plan to aid people under the poverty line. After we headed to Union Station to grab a bite to eat. then we were supposed to have a meeting with Naral ProChoice America, but they were lobbying on Capitol Hill. So instead we went to see the White House as well as Billy led a discussion on what Naral would have presented.

Then we proceeded to a meeting with NORML about Marijuana legalization. The one point they wanted to push across is that they are all for safety and regulations. It was an interesting discussion and our group was pretty evenly split in our thoughts. In my opinion, this is an issue that the other side doesn’t have any strong facts backing them up.
We ate dinner in Georgetown and then went to Kesher Israel, an Orthodox Synagogue, for Friday night services.  I was pleasantly surprised how much I appreciated the service, even though I did not know any of he prayers I still found it possible to hum along to it. And as a treat, Billy treated us to ice cream at local stop in Georgetown.
