Today we met with the John Howard association. They are an organization that advocates for prison reform. They are a small group, only six employees. They continued a conversation we have had with the Equal Justice Initiative in Montgomery and Homeboy Industries when we were in Los Angeles. They monitor the prisons in Illinois and help work on how to better serve the long term needs of the state with regards to inmates once they are out of prison and the conditions they face while in prison.

We then went to Water Tower Place for lunch and some free time on Michigan Avenue. We then left Chicago and made our way to Ohio as we are heading to Cleveland for the Republican Convention. We drove through the lovely state of Indiana on the way. It was long but fun day.
