Today was a really fun day! We woke up in Utah and headed on the bus to the Grand Canyon! After a 2.5 hour drive, we ate a quick lunch at a deli and hung out outside. When entering the lodge at the North Rim, we were immediately hit with the incredible view. The canyon seemed to go on forever. We then headed to a patio for some quick photos before starting our hike.
We walked for about a mile and stopped at a view point. There, Billy talked to us about meditation and we got to meditate by the view of the North Rim. We both felt a deeper connection to nature and spirituality after the mediation. We then reflected as a group before starting our descent back down the North Rim.
On our drive back to the hotel, we stopped at a Chinese restaurant for dinner. Once we got to the hotel, we had a lot of free time to hang out with friends or go to a Super Walmart. We then watched the documentary “I AM”, where movie director Tom Shadyac interviewed influential scientists and philosophers to try and uncover what is wrong with the world and what we can do to fix it. Both of us had a realization of how interconnected we are with other people across the globe. We left the movie with a new found understanding of how we need to focus on collaboration instead of competition.
