Summer Journey

At the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia

Etgar 36 is a summer cross country trip for Jewish teens in which you explore America and become empowered to get involved politically and socially to change the world.

In addition to seeing the sights that make each city unique, we see concerts (Bruce Springsteen & Dave Matthews), plays (“Avenue Q”, “In the Heights”) and shows (“Blueman Group”, blues bands on Beale Street in Memphis).

We also meet with organizations, activists, educators, witnesses and participants in history in order to examine and understand the various political issues that impact us.

Some of the issues we confront are:

  • Abortion
  • Gun control
  • Immigration
  • Gay marriage
  • Environment
  • Labor issues
  • Homelessness
  • The war on drugs
  • Foreign policy
  • Illiteracy
